CSAA 2009 Annual Convention in Lake Tahoe!

What a spectacular convention this year!  The CSAA hosted its annual convention at Harvey's Hotel and Convention Center in beautiful South Lake Tahoe on October 22-24, 2009. 

The convention kicked off on Thursday evening with a delicious welcome dinner at Kitchen 19 atop the Harvey's Hotel.  Members and attendees were treated to an amazing dinner and breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe.  Afterwards attendees went to a Comedy show at the Harvey's Improv theater. 

On Friday, attendees were treated to some great speakers... Aaron McKee of Purple Wave Auctions discussed technology, Lance and Terri Walker of Walker Auctions discussed benefit auctions, Pamela Rose of Pamela Rose Auction Company discussed real estate auctions, and John Glines discussed the aspects of becoming a professional ringman.  Friday evening the CSAA hosted the annual dinner and bid calling/ringman Competition.  The winner of the bid calling competition was Mike Grigg, AARE of Elite Auctions in Bakersfield, CA, the rookie bid calling winner was Pete Melero of Nipomo, CA, and the ringman winner was Calvin Ogren, CAI, CES of Ogren's Auction in Lodi, CA.

On Saturday, attendees were treated to Aaron McKee in the morning and a group discussion about the various aspects of the auction industry, followed by the awards lunch and advertising contest winners.  In the afternoon the CSAA had its annual business meeting and elections followed by a board meeting.

The 2009-2010 officers are as follows: Robert Storment, CAI President, Todd Good, South Vice President, David Huisman, CAI North Vice President, Jacinta Jarrell, CES Secretary, and Ron Fausset Treasurer.  The Directors are as follows: Denise Rinaldi, CAI, CES, Robert Daniel, Megan LoPresti, Melissa Storment, Ken Erpenbach, Rick Werner, Janine Huisman, John Cardoza, CAI, BAS, CES, Chris, and past president Mike Grigg, AARE.

The board is excited to announce that there will be another spring seminar in 2010, which will be held on a cruise to Mexico!  Next year’s convention location will be in Monterey on October 21-23, 2010.

Overall, the convention was a huge success and the CSAA hopes to see you at the Spring Seminar Cruise and at next year’s convention in Monterey.
